38th Premio Sergio Amidei

by Multi Form

We designed the visual identity for Premio Sergio Amidei, the 38th edition of the international award for the best screenplay that took place in July 2019. The entire event is articulated around the central theme – (Non) reconciled – investigating the historical, moral and political fractures and traumas aimed at creating awareness of one’s present. A common thread that – for social, political or stylistic reasons – coherently links every initiative present in the weekly schedule. Also this edition is proposed as a moment of sharing with the viewer of new reflections and new awareness through the script. As announced by Francesco Donolato, President of the Sergio Amidei Cultural Association, the Prize offers a highly representative program that emerges particularly in its opening day: “In 2019 the Amidei Prize turns its attention to German cinema, starting with the Prize awarded to the work of a great author such as Margarethe von Trotta for her ability to deal with important issues of the recent past, such as terrorism in the 1970s, and the role of women in our years through the representation, and gaze, of female characters of rare depth, of which a reasoned, retrospective will be proposed. Next to the retrospective dedicated to Margarethe von Trotta are the projections, curated by Professors Leonardo Quaresima, who is the greatest Italian exponent of the study of German cinema, and Simone Venturini in the section The films free their heads: the new German cinema (1965–1984 ), of some films that have marked these last fifty years of Germanic cinematography, strong in the expressive capacity of great directors, such as Werner Herzog, Edgar Reitz – awarded for his work and guest a few years ago – and Rainer Werner Fassbinder among others.”
